Nicholas K always puts on a fantasic show but this season was above and beyond. Their AW/16 “Arconsanti” collection draws its inspiration from the Arcology ideals of a completely sustainable environment. Areology argues that the implementation of massive three-dimensional architectural structure used to hold entire cities can maximize land and natural resources.
Their ideology is mimicked in the collection’s earth toned palette, consisting of amethyst, mauve, aubergine, smoke and dust, adding a darker twist to a 70’s silhouette.
Known for creating a versatile wardrobe, they have created an adaptable collection in the form of reversible silks and convertible 2 way shirts/dresses and shirts/skirts.
What makes this collection unique is the designers use of silks and leather combinations to create the look of modern utility. They mix soft silk-velvet jumpers with pony fur and lambskin military jackets to bring out their urban nomad in all of us.
