The Wedgewood Hotel is one of Vancouver’s finest, if not the finest, luxury hotels in the city. This 4 diamond boutique hotel is the only member of Relais & Chateaux on the mainland.
When walking into the Wedgewood, you can expect to be greeted by the friendliest doormen I have yet to see. They are usually smiling and cracking jokes with you as they walk you into the hotel. I watched them interact with a few of the guests this way and it was amazing how much they were able to make everyone laugh! We were all treated like guests of honour and I’m pretty sure I have never been treated better by any hotel while on my travels.
Our room was one of the penthouse suites on the top floor of the hotel overlooking the Vancouver Art Gallery and the beautiful Robson Square gardens. The terrace was the perfect setting for my sister and I to enjoy a glass of wine and catch up on some work during our stay.
Each Penthouse suite in the hotel is individually decorated with hand-painted art, antique furnishings, and a magnificent gas fireplace, making each room unique. Ours had a luxurious king-sized bed with a plush ruby coloured velvet headboard, making us feel as though we were staying in the Château de Versailles. We had heard rumours that the beds in this hotel were the most comfortable beds you could ever sleep on and they weren’t lying. We slept for nearly 10 hours for the first time in a long time that night.
The team at the Wedgewood treated my sister and I to an amazing dinner at their Bacchaus Restaurant that evening. The food and the live classical music was absolutely incredible experience. Something that is so hard to find in this city! Might I just add that the risotto is by far the BEST risotto I have ever had! In fact it was so amazing that we needed to retreat to the spa for a steam after our meal just to recover from the flavour shock we experienced.
Our stay at the Wedgewood was without a doubt one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel in the city. It’s actually one of the best experiences I have ever had. The Wedgewood’s European elegance makes the hotel a hidden beauty within Vancouver’s city limits and a place well worth visiting if you ever have the chance!
A big thank you to the team at Wedgewood for hosting us and for making my sister and I feel like a part of the family during our stay with you. It was an honour to work with you and an even bigger honour to see how happy you made each of your guests!
