Okay, so I have no factual evidence that this is a real method to relieving stress, but it is definitely my number one way. Most of the traditional methods like meditation, massages, and the gym don’t actually work for me. I often feel as though there are few things to do outside of yoga and running- but the one thing I turn to the most, is simply trying something new with my boyfriend. It’s an easier approach to stress relief, and something I don’t have to talk myself into when I’m tired. I struggle getting myself up to go for a run in the morning after a long week of work, but it takes very little effort to step outside the door with my boyfriend to go explore something new. We make it fun and different every week, that’s what makes it easy – it’s always exciting, it’s always an adventure!
When McCafé asked me about granting a summer bucket list activity, I jumped at the opportunity to go on an adventure while enjoying a delicious frappe! My boyfriend and I make the most of our weekends, and while we try not to do the same thing twice, we are always looking for something new to try. This time we decided to spend the day exploring local markets before hopping into the car and heading to Squamish to go on the Sea to Sky Gondola, something I haven’t actually done in my life! It was so cool, and SO beautiful! Dustin hated every second of it, because he’s afraid of heights, but he did it for me which is part of why I love him so much! I may or may not have forced him to cross the suspension bridge at the top too – oops!
It may seem silly, but there’s nothing that takes my mind off of a stressful week more than just enjoying the company of someone I care about. It takes my mind off everything that might be bothering me, all the deadlines that are creeping up, the editing I don’t have time for, everything. Believe it or not, my job involves a lot of solo work. My boyfriend isn’t really involved in any aspects of what I do, he doesn’t even get to play the role of an“Instagram Husband” very often. That means all the time we spend together is spent just being together and since my job is 24/7, every moment counts and I want to be at the top of my game for all of it. This weekend we fuelled up for our adventure with McCafé Iced Frappes, made from 100% Arabica beans, making it the perfect balance between a refreshing summer drink and caffeine for the day. The best part is that they’re only $2 for a small until September 4th, so make sure to grab one while you can!
You can celebrate your summer, or relieve your stress with a summer drink of your own during McCafé and McDonald’s Summer Drink Days! There are a ton of beverages available, and for $2, the Iced Frappe is way cheaper than your daily latte. So grab a cup, go out and do something exciting today, whatever that may be for you!
