The title of this post is misleading. I’m not actually going to the Olympics, but it did used to be a dream of mine…briefly. Very briefly.

The truth is, the ability to train as hard as an Olympian is not something I think I have in me anymore. I barely have enough time to get in 5 workouts a week and yes, that’s really how much I try to workout. This is actually something that’s been bothering me for a while. Now that I am working from home, I find it REALLY hard to motivate myself to workout. In fact, sometimes I actually feel guilty when prioritizing my workouts before work. Don’t worry, I’m working on this. I’ve been able to still make time for a morning run and play soccer, but cardio not quite the same as going to the gym and training.

What fit means to me is having muscle tone and being confident in my body. There was only one time in my life that I ever truly felt confident in my body and that was in University when I was playing soccer 3 times a week and was working out at the gym almost every day one summer with my boys Mikey and Ingo. That summer I managed to get in the best shape of my life. I haven’t really been back at that level of fitness since moving back to Vancouver 2.5 years ago.

When Aveeno asked us ambassadors to share our favorite Olympic style exercise with everyone, I have to admit I was a little scared. I don’t feel confident in my ability to give advice because I’ve only just started getting back on track myself. Instead, I’d like to share with you a bit of what I am doing and how I’m taking care of my skin while doing it.

My Weekly Workout Schedule:

Monday: Morning run and 30 mins gym or a Kayla Itsines BBG workout (When I go to the gym, I use Jamie Eason’s Workout guide which is free and found here)

Tuesday: Rest

Wednesday: 30 mins gym, soccer in the evening

Thursday: Rest

Friday: Morning Run, 30 mins gym

Saturday:
Swimming and soccer

Sunday:
Soccer

The first thing I do after a workout is shower, followed by moisturizing with Aveeno® Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Afterall, taking care of your body means taking care of both the inside and the outside.

FUN FACT: Moisturizing helps your skim stay tight and makes your muscles look more defined!
