Working from home is not an easy thing. It’s hard to maintain that work-life balance that we all strive for. I do a few different things to combat this and I get closer and closer to that perfect balance the more I take moments for myself. One of the things I really love to do is take my time in the morning.
When I was working in the corporate world, it always felt like a rush of chaos each morning to get to the office on time. I would sleep in as much as I could and wait until the last possible minute to get ready. That rush in the morning would make anyone stressed, and it’s more common than you might think.
Now that I don’t have that same sense of urgency in the morning, I’m glad to say I have learned to use this time to relax and enjoy myself. I am not saying I just neglect getting ready or don’t have a start time for work. 9 am is my cutoff time. I just make sure I do what I need to do at my own pace each morning and it’s been one of the greatest things I’ve done for myself. You must be asking yourself “what can she possibly be doing that she needs all this time for?”. Honestly, nothing! I sit on the couch without the TV or the computer on and I enjoy one of my favorite things in the world, coffee. It’s the only thing I feel like I HAVE to do each morning to function at my full capacity and thanks to McCafe’s Premium Roast pods, I am able to get some good stuff while doing it. I have even invested in a great milk steamer so that I can make my own latte’s. I can never seem to master the latte art though!
What’s great about McCafe is that all of their beans are farmed in Indonesia and Central and South America and are roasted slightly darker than medium to give you a perfectly balanced, full-bodied flavour. Those of you who have actually tried it know how great it is. In fact, when I was on the flight home from Cabo a few weeks ago, our flight was serving McCafe and the couple next to me couldn’t stop talking about how surprised they were and how great the coffee was! Thank you to McCafe Canada for sponsoring this post and for being so awesome to work with! It’s projects and company’s like this that help keep this blog (and me) alive and I couldn’t do it without them. 🙂
