You’ve probably seen and read about it every where. The fashion world is changing with each season. The worlds most exclusive and luxurious brands are now transforming to a shoppable runway. Why are they doing this you might ask? Well, it’s what the consumer wants and really, what kind of power would fashion hold without the consumer?
You can already see these changes happening. During this seasons Spring/Summer 17 runways, brands were mixing in the current season (fall) with their spring and summer collections. In other cases they were making the entire SS17 collection shoppable during the same week of the show, or exclusively for that day. It’s pretty powerful to be a part of a transition like this, to watch the brands bend the rules and put new twists on the traditional runway. That’s why I was so excited to wear pieces from the Lacoste Fall 2016 collection during the SS17 runway show at New York Fashion Week. It made me feel like I was truly apart of the change and I’m super thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this with Lacoste!
For the show I wore a classic suit with a sporty twist, in true Lacoste fashion. The wool blend Caviar Blazer is a perfect cut for the upcoming season, and the trousers are actually wool joggers, with little zip details to make them a few steps above casual. Pairing the look with the Lacoste ‘Made in France’ polo just seemed like a natural fit. Oh by the way, the joggers are also high-waisted, meaning they will look AWESOME with a crop top for a night out.
