I feel like finding the perfect swimsuit is a challenge for so many of us. I know I personally never feel 100% in most swimsuits, mostly because I am built like a boy. No boobs and an “OK” bum. However, I recently discovered how great it was to find a swimsuit that suits your body type. It’s a game changer and it has made me really appreciate myself and feel more comfortable at the beach.
Here are some tips for finding the best swimsuit for your body type:
1.) Know what your body type is. It may seem like common sense, but you might be surprised. Are you an apple shape? Pear? Maybe you have an athletic build? Knowing your body type is key to being able to dress it!
2.) Experiment with cuts. This doesn’t mean go and buy 200 sets of bikinis at Forever 21 and only wear the one you like the most. That is both a waste and silly. Try things on, thats what fitting rooms are for (even if you loathe them like I do).
3.) When you have found a cut you like, make notes about what makes it flattering. For example, a square cut suits me because I have a smaller chest. That means when I buy others, I can look for a square neckline or a bandeau type of top because I know it will flatter my chest.
4.) Mix and Match, when you have found the style of swimsuit that suits your body type, start collecting tops and bottoms (if they are bikini’s) that can be mixed and matched. That will allow you to get more bang from your buck!
