This season I had the ultimate pleasure of attending the Chanel Re-See during NYFW. This was my first time seeing the delicate creations of the Chanelatelier up close and it was like a dream come true. The collection was presented in their headquarters amd was displayed as if you were right in the centre of the studio. Everything from Karl’s sketches to the tailor pins were perfectly scattered around the room. The layout was designed to pay homage to the previous AW16 presentation where Karl invited the entire atelier staff and their tools to be a part of the runway.
During the show each tailleur and flou atelier proceeded to focus on their individual crafts, making the runway their new workspace while the rest of the fashion world watched in awe.If there is one thing I love about Chanel, it’s their ability to constantly innovate and share a unique story with the world through their collections. That is what true fashion is about after all, and it’s always been something I have been passionate about sharing. For instance, did you know that Karl drew some of his inspiration for the collection from the victorian era and the aged drawings of an early french artist? He is bringing true royal elegance into his creations and you can see evidence of this when you look at the details of each design. Just see some of the images I captured below!
A big thank you to the Chanel team for including me in this experience.
