Cowpuncher and Ghost Notes

“What should people know about the band – they should come and see us! We put on one heck of a live show. We’re loudish, rawish and fun. Sometimes I break my ribs when I climb on stuff and then fall off.”

Matt Olah of the local band Cowpuncher wasn’t joking when he told us about his on stage performances. The band celebrated the release of their third album Ghost Notes during a sold out show last Friday at the Palomino. Cowpuncher, along with Napalmpom and Chron Goblin rocked the packed basement bar, complete with confetti cannons. “That was the first time I bought confetti cannons. Now I want them everyday, all day. “

Ghost Notes is the start of a new direction for Cowpuncher, who slimmed down their band from five to seven members. “We are way less roots / country and way more rock and roll,” said Olah. “We stepped up our game in song writing and production. It’s got something for everyone. Fast rockers, slow sad sack songs, experimental jet-set rock and some sing-alongs.”

Ghost Notes is available for purchase on iTunes.
