My recent project with Oikos Canada helped remind me why taking a moment for myself, a moment to escape, is so important. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of prioritizing our to-do lists before EVERYTHING else in our lives. This is something that I struggle with all of the time. I used to play soccer 4-5 days a week and run almost every day. In fact, I used to be late for class sometimes just so that I could get my run in. I didn’t feel like my day was the same if I skipped my run in the morning.
Yet, for the past year, I’ve found that I often feel guilty for prioritizing my run over my work.
It’s a terrible way of thinking. So I’ve been on a mission to get back into my old routine by escaping for a run each day, or at least as often as I can. I definitely don’t have time to play soccer 4-5 nights a week anymore, but I do have the time to get out for a 20 minute run.
When Oikos asked me to be their Ambassador this summer and embrace and share my #EscapeMoment with you, I knew it was perfect for me. It would keep me motivated and it would allow me to re-embrace my morning run and remember how important it once was for me. It worked and I couldn’t be happier!
If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen that I was in Montreal less than two weeks ago with Oikos. I can honestly tell you how impactful this trip with Oikos was for me. The entire team treated each of us as family and really pushed us to embrace and experience our Escape Moments to the fullest throughout the week. They flew myself and a bunch of other AMAZING people out to Montreal to meet the team, enjoy an evening of yoga at the Lole White Tour and work on a little project that I’ll get to share with you very soon. All I can tell you is that it will inspire you to embrace your own #EscapeMoment, the same way it did for us!
