My Anti-Deighton Look

Yesterday, Dustin and I had the opportunity to attend our first ever Deighton Cup! For those of you that might not know what that is, it is basically Vancouver’s version of the Kentucky Derby. I had never been to the Deighton Cup, but I have to admit it was quite the event! The races were actually awesome to see, and it was so amazing to see how the crowds supported the riders and the event itself.

I have to admit, I really don’t like the idea of wearing a hat or a fascinator and a full pastel look. I completely appreciate the tradition and the spirit that goes along with dressing up for the event, however I really wanted to stay true to my own style, and wearing a fascinator and a pink dress just isn’t for me! I decided to bring my own style to this year’s Deighton Cup, in the form of a black lace dress , the most comfortable Steve Madden shoes (that I have been wearing all summer) and dark plum lipstick!

PS.  I want to send a big thank you to the girls at Sidebuy for hooking us up with tickets – we had a great time!

Here’s the dress I wore and the links on how you can buy it for yourself!
