Living fit isn’t just about working out every day and eating right, it’s about thinking right to. What does it mean to think right? It means to think positive, to believe in one’s self and to have a sense of self worth. This “positive thinking” is what drives success in all aspects of your life, including fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
In the book “As a Man Thinketh” author James Allen says “A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must and will bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed-seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind.” This means that if you fill your mind with negative thoughts, they will cultivate themselves into a reality. The same can be said for the opposite. If you think positively, your mind will produce a positive reality.
When it comes to your health and wellness, this way of thinking is what can make or break your move towards a healthy lifestyle. Think in terms of motivation, motivation itself is a form of positive reinforcement used to stimulate the mind to encourage physical action. Without it, success can be pretty hard sometimes. The mind itself can be defined as “the human consciousness that originates in the brain and is manifested especially in thought, perception, emotion, will, memory and imagination.” So to put it plainly, your mind which defines your human conscious is built on your thoughts, perceptions and emotions. Control these things with the right reinforcement and you will conquer the mind and therefore conquer the body.
