Eco-friendly shampoo seems to be a topic of conversation as our society shifts its mindset and consumers look for natural ways to take care of their hair.
One bottle of standard shampoo can contain up 150 chemicals with the potential to harm the environment, or worse, you. One of my big goals this year was to become more environmentally conscious. Choosing sustainable products where I can, opting for mineral or organic makeup and of course, choosing an eco-friendly shampoo and conditioner. That’s why I was so excited when Maui Moisture, a Vogue owned organic hair company, free of pollutants, reached out for a collaboration. It was the perfect opportunity for me to hold myself to achieve my goals, and educate my audience (that’s you) on products that are better for the environment!
So I packed up my bags and decided to jet off to my favorite place in the world, Hawaii, right where the purest ingredients of the Maui Moisture haircare line were derived!
The truth about most haircare products is that those same chemicals that can be found in most of our usual daily routines,
Their products are mostly consistent of pure aloe juice and coconut water, making them safe enough that you could even wash your hair in the ocean if you felt like it. They are also some of the most conditioning products I have used on my hair to date. Their Shea Butter Hair Mask has been a blessing to my locks while on the road!
I’m not saying you have to completely change your ways and clean out all of the products you currently use. What I am saying is that we can all be more conscious of our product choices, and if the price is right, why not choose a natural product? Maui Moisture as a place to start making small changes and can be found in your local Rexall and Shoppers Drug Mart if you’re in Canada!
