We decided to pass through Madrid before beginning projects in Barcelona and Ireland. This was a fairly impromptu trip as we planned it literally two days before leaving Vancouver, but it was well worth the last minute effort. I instantly fell in love with all of the colours and character of this Spanish city. It’s winding streets and it’s bustling energy were contagious. With packed lounges on literally every corner it was surprising that there were no shortages of Sangria or Tapas to try. It was busier than we anticipated, but mostly full of locals or other Spanish tourists. It was very unlike Barcelona in the sense that we seemed to be the only English speaking tourists for miles. This was actually refreshing as you really got the feel that you were somewhere unique, but it also made it a little bit of a challenge since my Spanish language skills are, well, non-existent.
Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more of our trip later this week!
