A couple of weeks ago, I shared a video on my Instagram showing the process of getting my eyebrows microbladed and it got an amazing amount of support! That video also sparked a lot of comments, questions and emails from all of you asking to know more about the process. “Was it painful? How long does it last for? How much does it cost?” etc.

Like you, I had ZERO idea when I went into it but my brow tech Kamila of Everlasting Brows Canada and Mila Mink Lashes and Brows, educated me so that I could tell you all more about the process itself! By the way, I want you to know that I 100% am in love with the results and feel better knowing I can leave the house without feeling like I need to apply brows before I go!

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a the application process for semi-permnanent makeup. It happens by inserting pigment into the upper layers of skin and it creates the desired fullness and design of the eyebrows while looking completely natural. It is also waterproof and smudge proof, much like tattoo ink.

How long does it last?

The effects last up to 18 months after which the pigment fades out of the skin, leaving your natural brow unchanged.

How much does it cost?

At Mila Mink Lashes and Brows, the service is $500 CAD and includes a free touchup. However, at most other locations and especially in the US, you pay closer to $700 or $800 USD. That’s why so many Americans travel to Canada to get procedures like this done! The dollar difference alone makes it worth it.

If you break it down, it costs you about $27/month which is far less than what I spend on my makeup each month.

Where should I get the procedure done?

No matter where you go, you need to ensure your brow tech is not only certified, but that they were educated. You have to be able to trust this person because you don’t want to be stuck with brows you don’t like for over a year and a half. That’s why I chose Kamila. She is fully trained, certified and has received education from one of the best institutions in North America. She also travels between Canada, USA and the UK to service her clients. Having clients all over the world makes you trust someone because you know that her clients have chosen her over others in the area.

I hope this post helps answer some of your questions about microblading, if you have any others please feel free to add a comment below and I will be sure to answer as best as I can!
