The festive season is upon us and there seems to be an event every day this week to get us into the holiday spirit! Not to mention the recent opening of the TWO Christmas Markets we have now, as well as the coming of the Nutcracker Ballet and the holiday Orchestra’s. This is by far my favorite time of year, but the cold weather really makes it harder and harder to want to get dressed up. Then again, it wouldn’t be the holidays without all the sparkle now would it?
To help us curve the inner “to wear a dress, or not to wear a dress” battle, I’ve come up with three tips that will help us minimize our getting ready time. I’ve decided to focus on our body for this post, since most of the holiday beauty routines seem to focus on makeup.
These tips are perfect for all of those planning to wear a party dress this season!
- Moisturize: Use moisturizer every day. If you’re like me, you dry right up in the winter. Moisturizer will help your skin look silky smooth and dress-ready! This is especially important post-shave.
- Get a Closer Shave: Get yourself a razor that provides you with a closer shave so that you don’t have to shave quite as often during the winter. Let’s all be honest, we all shave our legs a little bit less when there’s 3 feet of snow on the ground. I recommend the good ol’ Schick Hydro Silk TrimStyle. If you read my post from a few weeks ago, you’ll remember that its unique blades provide a closer shave while still providing moisture to the skin. You can purchase these razors at your local Shoppers Drug Mart.
- Give Yourself a Winter Glow: Give yourself a light winter glow. I don’t mean turn yourself orange or jump into a tanning bed. Tanning bed’s are NOT good for you. A light self-tanner (in lotion form) can give you a little summer glow that will have your muscles looking more defined as you dress up this season. I love applying self-tanner right after shaving with my Schick Hydro Silk TrimStyle. I also like to add an additional layer of lotion to help smooth out any potential streaks!
This combination of tricks will allow you to get the most out of your getting ready routine. Your legs will stay softer longer and a little glow will help your legs look defined, even in the winter!
A Big thank you to Schick Hydro Silk for partnering up on this post! It’s projects like these that help keep this blog alive 🙂
